If the "catfight" promos that Bravo has been airing 24/7 has got you itchin' for Tuesday's premiere episode of The Real Housewives of New York City (11 pm/ET), then brace yourselves, because this season, the claws are coming out.
"I go a little Sicilian on someone's ass," said Bethany Frankel at the show's premiere party last Wednesday in New York City. "There's a moment this season where you'll be like, 'Holy Balls! I know the episode you're talking about.' It was the moment of my drama."
But Frankel isn't the only drama queen this season. In the first episode, Alex McCord is livid about a not-so-nice comment Jill Zarin made to the press that suggested that Alex's husband Simon Van Kempen was a drunk (yikes!). According to Van Kempen, Zarin's quotes were prompted by a "Long Island" remark he made earlier to the media. "Her method of attack was talking to the press about how I drink too much," said Van Kempen.
Meanwhile, the self-proclaimed "spontaneous" one of the bunch, Ramona Singer, will have a decent amount of tiffs in upcoming episodes, but not just with Jill. "[LuAnn] just pushed my buttons," Singer said. "I don't like when someone is condescending when they do something the same or worse. Don't put me down to make yourself look better. I just went after her double barrels." Wonder how the Countess fares under the wrath of Ramona.
Amidst all the smack talk, newest housewife Kelly Killoren Bensimon thinks she made it through the season relatively unscathed. "I'm not listening to them talk behind my back. To my face they were really nice!"
Bensimon, a model, equestrienne, author, editor and designer, joined the show's original quintet without watching a single episode of any of the Real Housewives series. But why?
"I have some business opportunities I've been working on for the past couple of years, and I just thought it would be a great vehicle to, you know, explore this life that I've created," said Bensimon.
The newbie compared her addition on the series to being the girl who started in "a private school and moved to the big public one." The feisty Zarin puts it another way: "I don't know if she's gonna fit in, but we'll see. You've got to watch."
