Dexter: Who Will Die in Season 4?

Obviously, death is no stranger to a show like Dexter considering that our lead character is a serial killer who moonlights as a blood spatter analyst for the Miami Metro Police Department. But every now and then, we're confronted with the reality that someone else will die on the show, besides rapists, murderers and criminals. And season 4 is no different.

If you recall, we've already witnessed the demise of Brian Moser, Dexter's biological older brother in season 1, Lila West, Dexter's sociopath Narcotics Anonymous sponsor, Sgt. James Doakes in season 2 and senior Assistant District Attorney Miguel Prado in season 3. These deaths, however, are crucial and inevitable for our Dark Passenger to continue his journey.

According to Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello, a significant character will die on Dexter this season and it's not in the hands of America's favorite serial killer. John Lithgow's Trinity Killer will claim the high-profile victim this time and we'll be mourning (or celebrating) the character's loss during the first half of the season.

Though I have no idea who's getting killed off for season 4, I've thought of several characters whose storylines may have run their course:

Agent Frank Lundy

Is Dexter the kind of show that will bring back a character like Lundy only to kill him off? That would be kind of a blow but it will surely terminate any possible of bringing Deb and Lundy back together. After all, he's got nothing going on for him besides the Trinity Killer case now that he's retired.

Gail

Rita's mother has provided much of the tension in the Bennett household but maybe that's all about to change now that Rita is married to Dexter. Whether her relationship with Dexter improves or gets worse, that remains to be seen. I'm not even sure if she's even returning this season but I bet it's only a matter of time before she gets written out completely.

Rita

As much as I would like for the show to get rid of Rita, Ausiello confirms that it's not her. It's actually "someone slightly less annoying."

Detective Joseph "Joey" Quinn

He used to be a likeable, friendly cop but he's becoming a bit of a nuisance this season for Dexter after Dexter mistakenly brings the wrong evidence to a trial. Though he gave some sort of explanation about why Internal Affairs agent Yuki Amado was after him, something tells me that there's more to Quinn than meets the eye.

Sgt. Yuki Amado

Speaking of Yuki, I'm throwing her in the list as well just because she's a woman and somewhat annoying. I'm not really sure how the Trinity Killer chooses his target but judging from the first episode, it looks like he's prying on mostly female victims.

Anton Briggs

As usual, I doubt that Deb will get her happy ending with Anton, albeit their relationship is going strong so far. Perhaps Anton gets killed off to make way for Deb and Lundy's reunion?

I got a feeling its going to be Quinn, or at least something major happen with him. In episode 2 it came across as if they were trying to shift alot of attention between 3 people, Dexter (obviously), the Trinity Killer and Quinn.

I reccon the reporter Quinn is seeing will end up being a victim of the Trinity Killer, Quinn will some how find out and when he rushes to save her he walks in on the Dexter, Trinity Killer showdown.Which will put Dexter at a moral dilemma because the code will end up leaving him to make his own decision because Quinn's done nothing wrong but Dexter can't be caught.

i know everything seems to be going dandy with deb and anton but i keep getting this feeling that there will be some sort of twist and deb will end up with quinn or they will at the very least sleep together.
