Emmy Nominations: Freshmen Series Glee, Modern Family Dominate

New faces and old veterans highlighted the prime-time Emmy nominations Thursday as freshmen series Glee, Modern Family and The Good Wife entered the ballot that includes The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien.

Glee led all series with 19 nominations, followed by two-time defending drama series winner Mad Men with 17. HBO received a leading 101 nominations.

The Fox hit, which earned lead comedy acting nominations for stars Matthew Morrison and Lea Michele, is up for comedy series, alongside Modern Family, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Nurse Jackie, The Office and three-time defending champion 30 Rock.

In the drama series race, The Good Wife and Mad Men will face off against Breaking Bad, Dexter, Lost and True Blood.

O'Brien, who entered his Tonight Show for Emmy consideration himself, nabbed a nomination for comedy/variety series, while The Tonight Show with Jay Leno - submitted by NBC - was snubbed. The Emmys air on NBC this year.
