Iron Man 2, which has yet to hit theaters in North America, has raked in $100.2 million overseas, according to Reuters.
The superhero sequel, starring Robert Downey Jr. and based on the Marvel comic, opened in 53 international territories over the weekend in 6,764 theaters, with a particularly strong showing in the United Kingdom ($12.2 million) and South Korea ($10.8 million).
The first Iron Man made $98.6 million in the U.S. and Canada during its opening weekend in 2008 and made $585 million worldwide.
The film is scheduled to debut in North America on Friday. (A Nightmare on Elm Street grabbed the latest No. 1 domestic box office spot with $32.2 million.)
