Morgan Spurlock's eye-opening documentary series, 30 Days, returns tonight, where Spurlock will spend 30 days as a coal miner in West Virginia.
The only exposure I have really had to coal mining is what I have seen in North Country or Zoolander, neither of which really count (particularly Zoolander). As Spurlock points out though, "These are people who are putting their lives on the line every single day to basically go underground and mine a resource that essentially enables you and I to turn on a light bulb every day."
I'm looking forward to learning a little more about this profession and gaining some new appreciation for what coal miners do tonight.
Other topics for this season will include living in a wheelchair and same sex parenting.
