After getting punched out by Richard Dawson during an appearance on Family Fued, Peter develops amnesia and has to relearn everything, including who his family is. He realizes that he prefers the single life, prompting Lois take the kids and leave him, eventually almost falling for Quagmire's attempted seduction.
Featuring a cohesive story and some well chosen random gags, this episode succeeds on its simplicity. While some might argue that it's a formulaic Family Guy episode, the formula works well here, and the writers should stick to it more often. Stories are important! Now if only they'd wake up and present the show in widescreen like The Cleveland Show.
