CW President Optimistic About More 'Supernatural' and New 'One Tree Hill' - Featured

At yesterday's upfront presentation for the Fall schedule, CW President Dawn Ostroff had the difficult task of being optimistic about some of the struggling network's long-running shows.

One Tree Hill has lost stars Chad Michael Murray, and Hilarie Burton, Supernatural creator Eric Kripke has repeatedly said that season 5 will be the last one, and Smallville is entering season 9 abandoned on Fridays. That recipe might spell disaster for some who could see all three major shows endings after this year, but Ostroff thinks differently.

I'm with you on that one Rayah. Yes pick up "TSCC". Would def add something to the network and there is so much more they can do with it. The only problem is they probably wouldn't have the budget per episode to give us all the special effects they need.
But please let Kripkie just stick to his original 5 year plan. He has had a vision for the show from the start and just let him fulfil it.

I really hope they dont ruin Supernatural's ending just coz they want more money. It would be extremely disappointing. I mean, where do you go after a war between angels and demons/hell and heaven??Everything since season 1 has been building up to this and it should end when it was supposed to, not drag out and become something fans only watch coz of what it used to be...
I also think that with CMM and Hilarie Burton leaving, OTH may get a brand new fresh start with new, more interesting characters. The Leyton storyline had come to an end...and the only other option would be to have them be constantly happy like Naley, and 2 happy couples on a drama show just wouldnt work..i mean, where would we get the drama? And honestly, if one happy couple had to leave, im really glad its not Naley!! I think this could be good for OTH and i cant wait until next season to see how they explain the absence...that should get interesting...

I agree with StrawberryCutie. Peyton and Lucas had to leave, there was nothing left to tell. Hopefully with fresh blood the OTH circus starts rolling again. Since the end of season 4 the drama has not been the same. I mean okay, Naley's struggles throughout season 5 was alright, but with Leyton it was season 5: waiting for the right moment to bring them together, so if the show doesn't get another season e.b. is happy. Then season 6 was totally boring. The baby and pregnancy should have been more shoking and dangerous and they should have had more fights and all, instead: dull! Then, what is it with Skills. The poor guy has been on the show for so long, could they please eventually give him his own storyline?Brooke and Owen: pathetic storyline to the bonesame with Skills and DebMouth and Milly: alright even though it should have been harder for them to get back together and all, it seemed like they were just waiting and then puff - back together!Last season focused way too much on Leyton's boring couple life. I instantly missed the Brooke-Lucas-Peyton-triangle.
Hope next season gets better!!!
