Good grief, Grey's Anatomy. You don't really let your couples catch a break, do you? On tonight's episode, there are: argument-ending post-it's, sexy rubbing, and the validity of needing to choose only one between greatness and love.
"I deserve someone who will stay."
Izzie (Katherine Heigl) makes a return on Seattle Grace, but she hardly registers on people's radar, including her best friends' (no one even noticed the hair - the horror!). She comes and goes and people don't seem to give a damn anymore, like it's the most normal thing in the world for your cancer survivor friend to come and go as she pleases.
As it turns out, Izzie is sorry about blaming Alex (Justin Chambers) for her cancer and she's back to try and get a job somewhere near so she can have a semblance of her old life back. Her test results are encouraging, and it's like the cancer never happened. Unfortunately, Alex realizes that he deserves someone/something better, that he's not some disposable thing you can just get rid off after using.
Izzie is, not so surprisingly, heading out again, and this time, with no assurance that she'll come back. The act is getting old, to be perfectly honest, and most Grey's fans would perhaps agree: we have lost Izzie, the bubbly, positive, even lovable Izzie. We have lost her, and Katherine might come back, but it will never be the same again. Her life is just too screwed up, beyond repair.
