Translation/Dubbing

This already bothered me in the pilot episode and now again - the German spoken in Fringe is really really shitty. The accent is terrible and sometimes even the grammar/wording is horrible. Are ther really no starving German actors running around that they could hire to dub if they do not want to use them as actors?

Rant over ;-) - love it otherwise

Ahh come on who cares how there German accent is. For what Germany has done they should always have everything that has to do with them botched. Show is fabulous!! Just why did they have to take a break after 3 episodes?

It does seem odd though. There can be strikes about actors playing another ethnicity on stage - and yet nothing about some really bad German (I only did it for a year at school and even I could tell it was dreadful) spoken in a tv programme. As aneuss said, surely they could have found someone to dub it properly. And no, I don't think anything to do with Germany should be botched. What a daft thing to say.

Many Australians complain about fake Aussie accents in American programs as well.
It's very annoying when you know what it's supposed to sound like, whether it's a bad accent or a badly rendered foreign language.
