The true meaning of "LOST"

The definition of lost is having gone astray or missed the way; bewildered as to place, direction, etc. Providing this definition I find myself truly lost, after watching the series "LOST". There are so many mysteries, and everyone has a story, that some how connects with another persons story line. Jack and Claire are related, Miles (the new guy) can get in touch with the dead, Charlotte has some previous connection with the island, Ben has somehow moved the island to a new location, John Locke is now " The Others" new leader, Sun has taking over her father's company and is has some mysterious thing going on with Mr. Witmore, Widmore (whatever), Claire is still on the island in a cabin with her father's ghost for reasons unknown. And I'm not finished yet, in the latter part of season 4 they started to mention a guy named Jeremy Bethlem, Betham (once again whatever), SPOILER.... in the end it turns out it was john Locke, and this new mystery isn't the one that has me wondering WTF, the two biggest mystery of "LOST" for me is WHO THE, AND WHAT THE F**K IS THE DHARMA INITIATIVE?, and WHO THE HELL IS JACOB?

I just started watching the series a week ago, and it has got me hooked, frustrated, puzzled, and hopeful. I don't know why I didn't start watching it sooner, but that was my lost (no pun intended), and if anyone hasn't started watching the series yet, I would definitely recommend, no I would HIGHLY recommend it.

Season 5 premiere is January, 21st on ABC

DHARMA Initiative was explained in seasons 3 & 4 (Jacob was not yet). I think Lost is best watching in order on video, as quickly as possible. Only then is it easier to remember what went on before and tie it to what is going on now. It's great, and I can't wait for the new season.

"lost" means "shock" in icelandic.
But other than that I stopped a long time ago trying to get what "Lost" is all about. There are some theories but we'll see when it comes to an end I guess.

Maybe Jacob is actually one of the characters on the island? Like Jack came from the future and calls himself Jacob now? Rofl. Just kidding, but hey, you never really know...
I know Lost has "lost" a lot of fans because they claim it's gotten boring, I think they're just not smart enough to keep up ;-)
I'm just hoping Desmond's role is more major in the new season, can't wait to see what happens.
