Heroes is a cop off the 4400

If you look at the script heroes may seem different, but if you see the specifics heroes is completley coppin 4400 for the material. The 4400 was a great show only to be cancelled do to low ratings and the rise of heroes.

Look at the heroes powers healing, precognition, induced craziness, telekinesis, a monster with a whole lot of powers. If you think about it heroes even had the balls to take probably the focal point story line of season four, promicin, a serum that once injected could give anyone power, but came with a risk. I feel that it is not fair for heroes to be stealing ideas and getting all the credit. Dont get me wrong heroes is a good show, but its not fair that 4400 wasnt picked up by a better network when it told a better story.

yeah yeah, the concept is old, and? People with Super Powers doing... stuff .. sounds like X-Men, or Mutant-X too... so the idea isnt new and so? Fact is 4400 was good but Heroes tells a better story in a much better way ... imho

I agree, I admit I have first seen Heroes then The 4400 and I thought that the 4400 plot was v similar to heroes. Then I realized that it was the other way round.I like them both on the same levels. Wish the continued The 4400 is was awesome.

I can see the parallels between the two. I am pissed that they canceled the 4400. At least they could've made a few more episodes to wrap it up and make an attempt at an ending that answers all the questions left floating. I'm sick and tired of investing years into a series like this that has a plot with alot of questions and they just cancel it without ever summing it all up. It's an insult to the viewers and a big middle finger really. They should have the decency to try to wrap canceled series up with one final episode when they find out they've been canceled and the networks should make sure this happens for the time we have all invested in them. It's like they're selling us a book and they rip out the last pages and then they expect us to just buy another book from them and this goes on and on and on. It's just friggen rude.... At least firefly got to end itself thanks to Joss Wheedon's persistance. I wish all writers had his drive and character.

Its true, Heroes is a gesture Of Previous Hit "The 4400", "Kyle XY" & "Eureka"But plot is different and people like super hero flick.
Its not any how stealing i think, cause "The 4400" was not 100% pure even, there are lots movie, TV Show in this sort of plot.Heroes is Big Hit, because of its casting, making and marketing trickx.
BTW i like Eureka Too.

I guess I'm rehashing the same points. There are only limited amount of super powers, so you can't really complain about shows copying other shows' super powers. Human pyro, super speed, regenerative powers, telekinesis, superhuman strength, etc. its all been done before. If one follow the same logic, 4400 copied powers from previous sci-fi shows/comics.Also, it is not so hard to see why Heroes have outperformed 4400. The marketing force behind Heroes is larger then 4400. Another factor is the overall look of the show. Heroes looks better, both in casting and how they shot it. Heroes have more of an impact and feels more like an epic because of the effects. I also believe that the hotter female casts of Heroes keeps the males watching the show. ;DMy last point: I don't see much similarity in storyline. They are like apples and oranges. Yes, they are fruits but different. The shows are sci-fi, and that's where the similarity in storyline ends. There are elements like injectable superpower serum that is similar to 4400, but the core story is different.

I totally agree i was really into both shows before the 4400 got the boot, and personally I like the 4400 better at the time but what ever. I always felt they had a lot in common, but when Suresh made his little vile of powers I really saw the connection. Kind of lame really, and it sucks that This show got better press then 4400 it was a kick ass show. I miss it a lot.

I agree with Mesiah. Heroes and The 4400 have a lot in common (I love both shows), but blame cannot be on that fact.
Here's another fact: The first 3 seasons of The 4400 was from June-August '04-'06 -- thus making it NOT ran during the same time as Heroes. The 4th season was the only season that ran from June '07-Sept '07, making it possible that Heroes "stole" it's audience. More facts: Heroes has always been on Monday nights, The 4400 was only on Sunday nights.
So please stop saying that Heroes "stole" The 4400's audience. Thank you, good night. Do some fact finding before you start blaming other shows (

I don't mind that after a cancellation of a show due to low ratings (happens all the time) another sci-fi show with good special effects and a fast story-line came on the scene.
In any case, the 4400 storyline was already winding down (and slowing down, really). I mean, where else have they to go after that season finale!
It was a good, peaceful death which is more than I can say about of a lot of underrated cut-off sci-fi/fantasy favorites of mine. (Jake 2.0, Dead Like Me, Torchwood which only will have a five-parter rather than a full season, and 2 whole years until Doctor Who comes back)

The problem with a lot of these sci fi shows is that we nerds dont easily jump onto the bandwagon, and it takes often several seasons before most of us give it a try and discover we like it.Admittedly, I am a slightly bigger fan of heroes, but that's only because there's more action and fighting. I appreciate The 4400 because it's more 'realistic', there aren't annoying and obvious plot-holes, and the mood, I think, is more mature. These shows aren't stealing anything from one another, they are all just drawing from the same classics. Any sci fi show you watch you will find recycles the same old stories eventually.
I'm just upset that they keep canceling all of these great new sci fi shows after such few seasons!

I'm a pure SCIENCE NERD (emphasis on molecular genetics & Immunology) and love sci-fi that go in that direction. So when heroes came out I was geeked about modern day people getting abilities. What has become nauseatingly disappointing is the super-powers formula. A BIG BOOO from me on that one. Now the 4400 I could get down with because the true science used to explain their abilities.Heroes has this formula that triggers a person's ability through the adrenal gland - WHAT?!The 4400 has human beings altered to secrete another neurotransmitter (promicin) the activates neuropathways in the brain giving people their abilities and it doesn't work on everyone - at first. This is science I can get behind!I've come to the conclusion that all abilities (mutant, magic, metagenic, nu-genic, etc)are mental in origin and energy based.
