Oprah Winfrey and Tina Fey are among the celebrities selected to receive stars next year on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced Thursday.
Other TV stars to be honored include Neil Patrick Harris, Danny DeVito and Ed O'Neill, as well as ER and Southland creator John Wells, American Idol creator Simon Fuller and Cops creator John Langley.
The chamber tapped film stars Reese Witherspoon, Penelope Cruz, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ed Harris, Sissy Spacek and Donald Sutherland. Recipients from the movie world also include director-choreographer Kenny Ortega (This Is It) and director-producer Ridley Scott (Alien, Thelma & Louise).
Melissa Etheridge, Rascal Flatts, Slash and the Go-Go's are among the musicians to be honored.
"It was not an easy job to winnow down the extra large number of nominations this year to reach these 30 names," said John Pavlik, chairman of the Hollywood Walk of Fame Committee. "But the placement of stars for these famous celebrities will give fans and tourists some fun and exciting close encounters next year, such as a rare family dedication."
Bruce Dern and ex-wife Diane Ladd will be honored along with their daughter, Laura Dern, in a special family ceremony.
Also on the list: The Muppets.
Dates have not yet been scheduled for the ceremonies, and those selected have five years before the honor expires.
