Lol lolx, I was JUST about to comment on that. And first, I've figured that out a long time ago...a few episodes back, when Tyler's father was trying to get him and Jeremy to fight, Tyler got angry and started like...growling... Jeremy asked what was up, and he was like, "I'm just- I'm just ANGRY! I don't know why, okay?!" And then stormed off...and there was a full moon behind him. With all the anger stuff I was just like, "Yep, he's a werewolf :P "
Also...the werewolves in Twilight are like the vampires in Twilight--sissys. Don't get me wrong, I loveee Twilight, but if Vampire Diaries were to add werewolves...they would be COMPLETELY different then the pack in Twilight. So it probably won't be so bad :P

*Spoiler Alert*
I can indeed confirm that Tyler is a werewolf. If you have read the books like I have you will also know that one of the first Lockwood's to become a werewolf was called Jacob. I laughed, talk about a twilight connection... but I suppose these books did come out first.Oh, and in the book's Tylers last name is Smallwood. Just some trivia for you.

Tyler is a werewolf . If you read the book it says that his werewolf side was hidden in his genes but is unlocked by katherine's maker as a reward for helping him. The director is probably going to stick with the whole storyline but add new things too.P.S. Twilight came out way later and every book has its own style and story. Both books may include vampires but VD has witches and werewolves and lychs. ( And Jacob is not technically a werewolf, he's a shape-shifter.)

What's next? ghosts and zombies?! too much supernatural! I thought this is going to be a vampire show! It's actually one of the few reasons i watch it - Vampires nibbling on Elena's neck :D.
Btw i'm really happy they do not even get close to the excessive drama in twilight.
P.S. easy on the spoilers guys...

The ones at twilight were not were-wolves. They were shape-shifters. More related to the native American Yenodoushi myth. The were-wolves in twilight, the ones that the Vulturi exterminated in Europe centuries ago, were called "Children of the Moon". Aro described them in Breaking Dawn Book.
