How I Met Your Mother: I Heart NJ

Ah yes, another hilarious episode of How I Met Your Mother last night. Being a New Yorker born and raised I probably found it more entertaining than say my west coast counterparts, but there's still no denying what a good episode "I Heart NJ" was.

As Ted tries to balance his time with Stella and his time with his friends, he realizes he is missing out on everything by spending so much time on the train. This prompts him to convince his friends to come to New Jersey for a night to blend his two worlds. This only offsets a conflict between Stella and Ted that both parties involved thought was resolved: Stella thinks Ted is moving to New Jersey with her, and Ted thinks Stella is moving to New York with him.

After a quality New York-New Jersey showdown (lacking, I must say, my personal NJ favorite: Bon Jovi) and then a sweet soundtrack provided by the Boss, Ted comes around and decides he's going to move to New Jersey. (Which only makes me think.. how can I get my hands on that rent-controlled Upper West Side apartment??)

And if that isn't news enough.. we also find out that Robin has been offered a newsanchor position... overseas. Just when I thought the writers had forgotten the whole Barney-loves-Robin storyline, they bring it to light again when they show his disappointment at this news... especially after he was the one who encouraged her to go for a new job and quit her old one.

Anyway, as usual there were plenty of laugh-worthy puns mixed in with the serious parts and we also discover what a loathing Marshall has for holding his own cups.

HIMYM has once again reminded us why we heart it so dearly.

Had a lot of great one-liners.....Ted-"I have to go drop a major New Jersey."

I dunno. It's just not as funny this season as the others. I read something about the writers being told to "make it more broad" which sounds like code for "make it dumber".
Still, I'm sticking around. For at least one more episode.
