Man oh man oh man! The Grey's Anatomy season finale was so action packed with goodness I don't even know where to begin! I must say, for such a mediocre season they sure went out with a bang!

What an emotional roller coaster we were taken on during this two hour finale: sadness, joy, redemption, disappointment, hope, and the list goes on...!

Let's start with the patients:

The Beth & Jeremy story was one of the best I've seen in a long time! My heart totally went out to them- being young and in love and still believing in the power of it all! The emotional sex scene, the passion, the romance, the innocence- it was so perfectly written & executed. Kudos to the writers on a fantastic storyline - and to the actors for such a convincing performance!

The seemingly outrageous-turned-emotional story of 19-year-old Andrew trapped in concrete also contributed greatly the episode! The things he did for love & acceptance were heartbreaking! Lola's unwillingness to stand by the boy she loved and put into this life-threatening situation to begin with just seemed evil! Yet I somehow was able to empathize with the (pardon my french..) bitch!

And Ava/Rebecca's borderline personality disorder, total regression after finding out the baby didn't exist, & suicide attempt wasn't treated lightly either. Alex's struggle with accepting the situation & allowing Izzie to care showed us a side of Alex we rarely see. Even the intense emotional bond between Izzie & Alex at the end of the episode seemed so..... genuine. Poor Meredith dealing with slit wrists and suicide attempts twice in the same kitchen!

And onto the relationships:

What season finale isn't complete with kissing galore?! Erica & Callie (Ericallie?), George & Lexie, Richard & Adelle, Izzie & Alex, and of course.. Meredith & Derek!

The Erica-Callie storyline has turned out to be one of my favorites. It seems so real, powerful, and honest... I can't wait to see where they take it next season!

Pre-Denny, Pre-Ava/Rebcca, Pre-Lexie... Izzie & Alex had a bond. I'm all for revisiting that!

And I must say that I am ecstatic that Richard has finally gotten his priorities straight.. and that Bailey is able to learn from his mistakes and see the "bigger picture"! Bailey is such a strong woman, I would hate to see her lose it all! (Plus i absolutely loved her secret Star Wars knowledge bank- NEVER saw that coming!)

And finally, in a completely cutesy, hokey, only Grey's-can-pull-it-off way, the last Mer/Der scene in their candlelit "floorplan" made me, like the candles, absolutely melt! IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME! And how McDreamy of him to want to talk to Rose first! Whatta guy!

I'm telling you.. I laughed, I cried, I yelled, my heart melted, and I was left wanting MORE! Such a disappointing season was salvaged by this amazing 2-hour season finale. Even the groan-worthy parts were overshadowed by the intensity, depth, & sincerity of the rest of the episode, having all the elements of the seasons past! I can seriously not complain! (Seriously).

Hook, line, and sinker, they've pulled me in for another season!

OMG! I just finished watching the season finale. OMG OMG OMG! Do i really have to wait til fall for the next season. That was the best finale ever... ARGH! Brilliant... just brilliant. MERDER ARE BACK ON!!!!! wooohoooooo! I cried, i laughed.. and the candle lit floor plan was freaking awesome. AWH!!!! Just freaking fantastic. I'm over joyed.. it made my day!!!!!! I think it was the best episode yet. :)

I have lived in Greece for the past 2 years... I have had to beg, borrow or steal GA from wherever I could. (I was in the states from the first episode and all the time slot changes) Sidereel has saved my sanity! I have to say that the season finale was AWESOME!! Best writing of the season and I didn't feel like anything was forced. I loved the surprise with the lit floor plan! (where the heck did she get all those candles??) and even the Callie/Erica thing was cool because Callie said before you have to be honest with yourself. Major props to the brain tumor actress. I loved her. Sweet and natural. Good job girl! Best 2 hours of TV yet! All my best from Athens, Greece! Can't wait til the new season starts!

I AGREE..THIS FINALE WAS DEF THE BEST ONE OUT OF ALL THE FINALES!! IT WAS SOOOO EMOTIONAL...THE ALEX/IZZY THING NEARLY HAD ME IN TEAAARS!! AND OF COURSE MEREDITH AND DEREK...WOOOW!! THE FLOOR PLAN..HOW SWEEEET!! TOTALLY MCDREAMY!! LOVED IT..BRING ON THE NEXT SEASON LOL X

Great finale, congrats to the writers, but needed after a mediocre season. The only thing I dont get, what was the fuss about THE KISS, which one? I mean all kisses where nice, the most unexpected one for me was between Alex and Izzy. There was so much fear, grief and despair, but also so much longing - hot ! (...does that sound weired in a way...) The kiss between Merder was of course the one we all have been waiting for as they belong together no matter how hard they try to pretend not to. For me the fact that Meredith actually "builded" a house with a room for children did the trick, now thats what I call major development and even more important COMMITMENT ! Now on to the kiss between the two girls. We live in 2008, honestly what is so sensational about that? It was obvious that there is a lot of chemistry so the only normal development would be a kiss. So here are my favourite parts: Baily - rising above again, what an incredible, strong woman, love her ! George finally becoming a man ! Steamy finally becoming a man !? and Alex, yes Alex, this was the most heartbraking part for me. I actually had to cry when he started talking about his mother and later begging Izzy to be with him. I'm so happy about the fantastic and totally romantic merder ending!!!! But I have to admit I'm a little nervous about the next season cos' grey's really known for their little shockers!!!! I can't stand McDreamy with Rose so I hope everything goes without a hitch! And 'real' little McDreamys??? That would be so cool! :)

Seriously! I was shocked to get such a great finale! Awesome review! I loved many a moment, but really enjoyed getting to like Meredith again after all her annoying moments. It was great to see her working through everything and finally facing it instead of feeling sorry for herself. It was also good to see she actually had a really rough time of it beyond just the hard time of having a tough mom. The cases were good, the friendships actually were re-bonded, and oh the glorious kissing montage - fantastic! :)

What an episode! I have to say that the writers deserve a pat on the back for the merder story line. If it wasnt for 2 bits I wouldnt have found them geting back together again completly plausable:1. Merideth working through her problems with more than tiquela!:D2. Derick being human.(being scared and upset and angry not just perfect McDreamy.)I would never have stoped watching Greys but this finale really left me wanting more!Since everyone seems to be saying it Hello from Donegal, Ireland(I think the Eurovision is having a weird affect on all us Europeans!)

I completely agree with LSNY, the fourth season has been mediocre, but this season finale was eccelent. Still, I felt that a kiss was missing: yeah, I would have loved to see Bailey kiss her husband. Call me pessimistic but I think that Dereck will not come back to the candles' appartement, Shonda knows we need drama to keep shooting episodes...And personally, I loved Merder at the begenning, but know i found it borin and I think they both need to get over it and move on with their lives

Julien, this that you're saying makes a lot of sense: I don't think Derek will come back either, becasuse this is Grey's Anatomy, where "things aren't done the easy way". There is, in fact, another ddiscussion going on about this. But I do think Mer-Der is a ment-to-be couple, and if they don't get together their lives will be really messed up. But Alex and Izzie.. Their part in the finale was kind of weird, with thw whole Ava thing, I think they could've done samething different just as good. And the whole George and Lexie, What the hell..? George should be gay, it would make much more sense. I also thought the patients rocked, and Bailey just got a little more perfect with her sci-fi content. And, Greekangel, I'm totally in your situation: GA only starts in my country about 4 months after it begins in the USA... so sidereel was a real life saver. And, since everyone is saying, hello from Rio de Janeiro, Brasil!
