Now that the handcuffs seem to be off of Joss Whedon, we are finally starting to get more of the show he intended. It started last week with "Man on The Street," and this weeks "Echos" allowed us to pull on the string of the mystery behind the show.
We found out that there was a reason Echo became a doll, apparently she got too close and discovered too much about what the Rossem company, a medical experiment type or research lab, had been up to. A drug was released causing the actives to remember memories from their past both as a person, and as a doll.
All I can hope is that Fox stays far far away from creative input and allows Whedon to do his thing, cause this show is really starting to get interesting. I just hope the first 5 episodes did not doom the series by turning people off watching it, Fox needs to make up for their large mistake and start promoting like crazy to give this show the chance it deserves. A full page ad in the New York Times reading, "We're sorry Joss, you were right, please forgive us" seems like an appropriate start.
