Will Dexter leave Rita?

I'm just making a theory here and could be off base, but it looked to me when dexter was all alone in his little torn apart shed that he was no longer comfortable with his situation. Like he was reevaluating his life. Was it worth it to stay with Rita and possibly scar her and the kids the same way the Trinity killer has done to his family. Sure everything is going well now, but what about years from now. Besides they've already introduced a love interest into Rita's life that the kids also are quite fond of. If dexter moved on that that guy elliot would be there and I gurantee you those two would hook up. For once she would be with a decent guy. Just my theory. Besides how long can dexter go on killing without something happening to him? He'd be better off leaving her and just having an occasional girlfriend.

I agree that things haven't been working out for Dexter with the family, but will he divorce Rita and essentially have her written out of the TV show? I don't think so. She has been in it far too long, and it's not like Dexter hasn't cheated on Rita, remember Lila? Rita is a main character that they won't just throw away. They need her to keep Dexter human, otherwise he loses the empathy of the audience because we will just be left watching a monster who kills people.

he could keep his kid tho, and thus keeping some of that empathy your talking about, but heh! your right, with the kind of season we had, i don't know what they could pull out for Rita and make her even more important to the show, maybe another serial killer? lol
