16 year old to play the doctor next??

Ever since they restarted filming Doc. Who, each doctor has been getting progressively younger!! Not to mention they keep picking actors (good actors though), that keep wanting to leave the show too soon and messing up his regeneration lives!!!!!! Arggggg.

They might as well make "Teen Who" now. No more funny scarves, hats, and hair. Now it's all leather jackets and moussed up spikes......

:(

boo.

I hear you, I hate the fact the actors keep leaving. Trying to move on to "better things" when, in fact, the UK is hardly an amazing hub for actors. Chances are, this will be the highlight of their career and they have no idea. It's a little clood-blooded but it's all too true, many actors have left amazing shows to move on and found themselves stuck in pointless acting jobs, or end up as a gameshow host.
It's a shame, this show is being shown all around the world and people are loving it; the pay must be great, they're acting to their best and they're becoming icons of our sci-fi era, but, apparantly, they'd rather do stage jobs.

The thing is right i think they will use a plot to say that he can regenerate as many times as he wants because all the time lords are dead and there is no one to regulate it but i could be wrong

Well it's all okay for actors to be able to do whatever they want--they do have a right to live the way they want. I just wish the producers would find those actors that will commit to the show for at least 5 years each instead of ones that fly away with the wind. For actors it is a job, not all of them can be ecpected to be fans of whatever show they are on, just find someone that will stay on longer, I'm worried about what will happen to the format of the show I grew up with if his lives are all spent so fast. I really don't want to watch the doctors son or god forbid daughter! (p.S I'm a girl), just so u know. You don't want the next Bond to be a girl do ya??

Actually from 2005, the producers of the show knew that chris ec was leaving after the first season and they needed someone to set the standards and then david, he has played the doctor for more than 4 yrs... its a very demanding job and he has to come down to cardiff all the way from london to film... I do aggree that the new doctor matt smith is tooooo young! but then again they have got to appeal to the correct target audience and sorry if they didnt want a 100 yr old man running around trying to save the earth... and also matt smith the new new new doctor has signed a contract for him to play the doctor for 5 yrs... and the regenerations, well if the master can steal more regenerative energy then they will surly find a way for the doctor to live longer... and lastly i think david is right to leave at this point, he is in his late 30's and he wants to make a go at different acting jobs (why not!!!)
