I was thinking that too, but sometimes around the third or fourth bok you'll find the sookie diary format kind of boring, since she is the narrator it was not possible to transfer this to the screen!plus the romance is more intense on screen, I find Sookie more "bitchie" in the book, being even overseductive! but what is great with True Blood is that you have different directors, in fact it's obvious to see how the storyline changes and the angleshot too, I truly love the show since episode 4, thats to say after the soft-almost-porn scenes of the three first episodes it was kind of boring and quite reductive to depict vampires only as sexual "inhuman humans"! Now, I must say that I'm ready for some action, fighting and confrontations too, since Sookie and Bill love is consumed need to step to higher level!

I agree, I like the twists that they throw in, especially making Sam more forcefull and Tara more prominenet. Jason and his V addiction is really interesting too.The only thing I don't like is how they fast forwarded through Bill and Sookie's relationship. In the book they had been together for a while before he found out about her uncle, or before the house fire at the vampires'. There were also a lot of twists surrounding these events.I know it seems like a small detail, but I loved the way it played out in the book.Even so I am loving the series, and can't wait for next week!

In response to ladyKatie......I just finished reading the book and I believe that in the book Sookie does indeed tell Bill about her Uncle Bartlet after they have sex for the first time, she doesn't wait a while.

It is so funny because because so far I have enjoyed the show better than the books. I have just finished the third and am starting the forth book. I like the small changes in the show and addition of Lafayette. I think he brings a lot of comic relief to the show. I liked how the first visit to Fangtasia played out in the show better then the book. I think Sookie's character in the first book was too..... I don't know. But she just annoyed the hell out of me. In book three I started to like her character more.
I am very excited to see how some of the future events will play out on the show. I hate waiting for the next episode every week.

i really love both the show and the book.... but i really dont like the addition of tara's mom. If you've read all the books you know that demons do exist.....but not inside of someone. I am loving the rest of it and cant wait until next week when they have to go back to fangtasia!
