If any of you really liked the show in the current iteration, bad news: its being rebooted again.
Apparently, "[...] Knight Rider was beat across the board by Cuidado con el Angel.(1)" Ouch. That really must hurt.
And so, according to executive producer/showrunner Gary Scott Thompson: "It's a reboot. We're moving away from the terrorist-of-the-week formula and closer to the original, making it a show about a man and his car going out and helping more regular people, everymen."
Furthermore, there are cast cuts: Sydney Tamiia Portier (Carrie), Yancey Arias (Alex), and Bruce Davison (Graiman) will not continue on the set. Justin Bruening (Mike), Deanna Russo (Sarah), Paul Campbell (Billy), Smith Cho (Zoe) and KITT (of course), however, make the cut and will eventually be the focus of the.
The revamp was ordered even before the full season order a few weeks ago.
Personally, I thought the writing was torrid, but I liked the idea of the show. I'd say NBC is doing the right thing. Currently, it's the cheesiest/corniest show out there, which becomes tiring after a while. Whether or not this pans out is a different story.
