Well Losties, another episode has graced us this week and I have to say that the momentum of this season is completely fantastic. We're now four episodes into the story and it is so fast paced and action packed, I'm starting to feel dizzy. Not to mention the time-traveling-pickle that we have to always think of 'when' the characters are!!!!
So we begin rather nicely again with the Oceanic six and Sun shows us her motives. While Kate goes off to confront Mr Norton the lawyer, we see Sun gets some intel on Ben, a nice box of chocolates...and oh yeah......a 9mm hand-gun. I don't feel any untoward emotion for Sun wanting to kill Ben, as she feels he is responsible for Jin's death, so I don't really see her as a killer but more rather a woman scorned who has a lot of money and vengeance on her mind.
Back on the island we see John Locke's quest begin. He has made up his mind that he must leave the island through the Orchid to get the Oceanic six back in order to stop all this time skipping (and nose bleeding) from happening. This is what I always wondered when Ben said 'your people are in danger and that they have to go back'. I would sometimes wonder what was so bad that was going to happen? And how can just six people prevent it? So now we know the time-skipping is going to kill everyone and is the threat that is mentioned during the show.
Our story with the Oceanic six returning to the island during the episode is so good it has to be fattening as Ben is back to his true form like a James Bond villain! We have found out he hired the lawyer as he knew Kate wasn't the mother and used this to his advantage knowing she would follow Aaron back to the island. I think we'll find that John couldn't convince her as we hear Sawyer this episode ask John:-
" What are you going to say to her to get her to come back?"
" Well James, I haven't figured that out yet"
As I previously mentioned in the past, the show explains time travel in different ways and this week I think we see a rather good way as it uses clues and characters we know ourselves to determine when it is. Our first time skip shows us season one when Aaron was born (awww, and Sawyer was so sad seeing Kate), but the main one we find out at the end is that they are sixteen years in the past...because....wait for it....Rousseau's crew find Jin!!!!! Yeaaaah!! Now we know that Jin got off the boat and has been time skipping with the rest of the survivors. Ahhh, what a relief. The only fear he has now is to avoid getting shot when Rousseau starts killing her crew.
Questions for this week:-
- Will Jin learn french? (kidding)
- When were Charlotte and Miles on the island before? We know Daniel was from seeing him in the pilot with the Dharma Initiaive but Charlotte says she was born there (season 4) and now we're supposed to think Miles has been there to?
- Would it explain why Widmore chose them to go to the island with Naomi?
- Is there a growing love connection between Juliette and Sawyer?
- Where did the Indian bottle of water come from?
I'll leave you there Lost friends,
See y'all on the island next week.
