Restaurateur Julian Hug, who competed on The Bachelorette season 5 with Jillian Harris, was found dead off a highway in the Southern California desert. Reports San Diego's 10News:
"Bertrand Hug told 10News Julien was on his way to help manage the family's newest restaurant in Palm Desert, Augusta Modern. He said two days ago his son's phone went dead while he was driving somewhere on Highway 74 in Riverside County, which was the last time anyone had heard from him."
Hug's body was found Wednesday and identified Thursday. The cause of death is not yet known, but 10News also reports that authorities said they should know by Friday.
Hug's former Bachelorette cast members took to Twitter this morning to mourn the loss of their friend. Among them, Reid Rosenthal, who wrote, "Rest In Peace Julien Hug. The nicest guy in the world. You will be missed," and Jillian Harris, who wrote, "Please say a prayer for the loss of a friend this morning. Life is fragile, don't forget to love the ones you love."
