A.J. Cook to Guest on LAW & Order: SVU

A. J. Cook has booked her first television role since being fired from Criminal Minds. TV Guide reports she will appear opposite Jeremy Irons in the "Mask" episode of LAW & ORDER: SVU.

As previously reported, Irons will play a rehab center sex therapist named Cap Jackson while Cook will be Cap’s daughter’s lesbian lover who is brutally attacked.

SVU executive producer Neal Baer told TV Guide, "A lot of people love A.J. So we asked, ‘How about coming and starring opposite Jeremy Irons?’"

While obviously not as good as getting JJ back, this sounds like it could be a great role for Cook, giving her a chance to stretch her acting muscles by playing a victim instead of someone helping victims.

Law & Order: SVU currently airs on NBC Wednesdays at 9pm eastern/8 central. It will move to Wednesdays at 10pm eastern/9pm central beginning January 5, and the Cook/Irons episode will air in early 2011.
