is it just me but cant we have consistent storylines

it seems that the smalliville writers are either unaware to what they write or simply don't care to insult our intelligence.. in season four they implied that the stones of power has been on earth for hundred of years, but yet according to the kandor episode they have been on earth at best less then a century which of course makes the entire season 4 story ridiculous.

Now i understand this is TV and there are ratings and other bla bla bla , but please at least make sense and respect your story lines. at least what read what you written in the past, is that too much to ask for ?

I just figured Jor-El time traveled or used one of the many portals to put it on earth hundreds of years ago...coz not only would that explain what happened in Kandor, but it would also explain why the Stones, that eventually combined to make the Crystal of Knowledge that in turn created the Fortress of Solitude would have Jor-Els voice! Because even before the episode of Kandor was shown, season four should have been questioned as to why a crystal that was supposedly created hundreds of years ago contained the voice of a man who werent even born yet!

your explanation doesn't make sense angel as there are no indication to any portals (not to mention any knowledge of them) and it does not explain how events which are clearly within half a decade time line suddenly try to explain events supposedly took place hundred of years back and in various locations.if the writers want to build on past scripts thats fine but its not OK to reinvent things as you move along and try to add patch on top of another patch, thats absurd.people who are fans of the show and follow it for years should be able to expect a little common sense from the writers and producers

They do mention portals...several times in fact when Lara arrived in Kara's vision, when Dax-ur arrived, when Jor-El arrived in Kara's vision...they mention it in others as well! As for everything else you said...well I didn't get it, if you want an explanation then go to the IMDB boards, some nerd explains it on there...personally I dnt give a crap its just a show...and lets face it Smallville is known for having major continuity errors...just enjoy while you still can, or switch over! People who take the shows inconsistencies to heart are people who take it too seriously!

Angel dude, the purpose of having a loyal base fans is to have a show that is enjoyable as well as one that you can relate to in terms of the plot and storyline you try to present. so many shows lost their ratings because of screwing with their scripts
everyone knows that smallivlle is a fiction and an entertaiment show but that doesn't mean u can BS on the mythology or on your scripts. if you want just fun go to the circus pal over there you will have all the action you want and nobody there will care about scripts or strorylines.
I have been follwoing the show since the first episode but that doesnt mean thast i have to accpet everything they try to pass on or ignore errors i believe they made

Oh and by the way if you have watched it from the beginning then I don't know why ur saying you have never heard of the Portals.

I think the 'Kandor' portal ideas are the least to worry about when it comes to plot inconsistency. The whole 'Traveller' and 'Veritas' idea in season 7 really screwed up the consistency of the storyline. If you really want to complain about something then complain about that, not about the stones which can easily explained in the DC universe by time travel, portals etc. which are a valid point. Plus the idea of stones originating more towards the present makes more sense especially if Krypton is destroyed, otherwise why would Jor-El have sent them in the first place. Also what is the difference in passage of time between Krypton and Earth?

yeah so the portals not only go places they go times, but yeah they coulda took a lil more care of explaining that one ........i think they writers need to talk just a bit more with the actors because things seem pulled off in the wrong way sometimes
