Ian McKellen and Andy Serkis on Board for The Hobbit

The payday-seeking Ian McKellen has finally signed on to reprise Gandalf in Peter Jackson's two-part adaptation of The Hobbit, and the production has locked down another important piece of returning talent: Andy Serkis, the motion-capture pro who will again play his Lord of the Rings role of Gollum. In addition to the already-signed Cate Blanchett and Elijah Wood (and rumored Orlando Bloom), Deadline reports that Jackson is wooing Ian Holm and Christopher Lee to return, too. Class reunion, everybody! [Deadline, THR]
