Hmmmm....

First of all, I would like to pat myself on the back on predicting correctly and accurately how the last scene would be like. I KNOW THIS WAS PREDICTED. It's just PERSONALLY kind of weird (for me) how I said it will end with Dexter's wedding, muted while people acting all happy, and Dexter's traditional narration in the background with his wise words about his future in a previous review. Kind of cool how it was right to the T with my own personal visual imagination about it. The last episode was fine, but kind of not satisfactory. The season made it seem like there was going to be a whole new problem with Ramon and such, but everything was settled in one scene. Then, it seemed like a big deal that George King captured Dexter, but that ended pretty swiftly too; how convenient that Deb somehow managed to get there on time. All in all, it just seemed to wrap up the loose ends in a half-ass way.

But oh well. I liked the series; the passive atmosphere gave it a unique kind of spin to it. Can't wait for the next season.

It was hardly surprising that you guessed how the last scene would go, given the last two series ending. It is the same as me saying the next season will open with dexter doing some mundane task, driving/boating/shopping with family while narrating about the fact he lives a normal life but holds a dark secret and that anyone who gets close dies.
But I agree with you on the half assed wrap up. We basically found out nothing about the skinner. Some meaningful dialogue between the skinner and Dex would have been good.
At least they opened a new door with Deb about to find out about Dex's mom. I think the next season will be all about Deb looking into Dex's past, and her possibly finding out that he is a killer (she may find out that he killed the bar owner guy in the last season).
All in all I really liked this season, particularily the second half. The final was a bit of a let-down...it was a bit rushed or something. Perhaps things like deb getting her shield etc. could have been left out, or included in a previous episode....anyway, I'm rambling here, so all in all I cant wait for season 4.

There were also some random moments which I didn't get unless they become important in the next season: Quinn-Yuki story, Matsuka doing a background search on the stripper, the old lady and the pie, the fact that Rita was married when she was 16 being revealed in the last half hour of the finale...
The finale was a let down. George King was run over by the cop car? And Dex slipped out with a broken hand without anyone realizing? Didn't they see the tied up ropes and metal table? And in literally 2 minutes Dexter convinced Ramon and calmed him down. It was wrapped up way too easily. If they hadn't let the Deb's research slip in, it would be completely lost.
Next season predictions:
1.Will open with Dex on his honeymoon or showing flashes of his honeymoon with a voice over (natch!).2.The fact that his baby is born will make him scrutinize his kills (he will need to spend more time at home).3.Deb will find out about Dex's past, and I think his 'dark secret' by the end of the season.4.Season one had Dex trusting his brother, season two had him trust his sponsor/lover, season three had him trust a friend. All three were killed by Dex. Hopefully the next season will be a little less predictable.
5.This is sort of a stretch-- the Dexter books see Dex training Cody and Astor to follow the code because they get upset/violent after their biological father walks out. Maybe they (or maybe just one of them) get upset that the new baby is getting more attention/ Dex is the new father/ school life isn't going that well? And they start killing small animals just like Dex used to? And Dexter discovers this? LOL
Anyway--- rooting for Dexter and MCH at the globes. Can't wait for season 4... anyone know when it's out?

I already knew it was predictable for everyone, but why can't I be just pleased about it? I knew it sounded like I was boasting or something, but I thought since everyone's always talking about how the series are so predictable, it was already assumed that I knew everyone else knew it was predictable. I'm just more pleased about how my VISUAL imagination was right on the dot with the scene, not the fact it was vaguely going to be his wedding and his traditional end-of-the-season narration. I should have maybe stated that more clearly. And I agree about the Deb thing for next scene. That has always been Deb's strength, fishing around and spotting connections most others, besides Dexter who is always 3+ steps ahead of her, do not see.

Yes! The Yuki moment and those other random fill-ins. What were those about? And I agree with your assumptions. And yes, go Dexter and MCH at the globes. All I know is that the 4th season will be released next year in the fall :T

LOL I never meant to belittle your prediction of the exact happenings of the finale. Haha be pleased... I totally know how it feels (I predicted most of the 7th Harry Potter book and people thought I was boasting because a lot of it was predictable).
I meant overall-- we knew Miguel would die, Dexter would escape from George King and there would be a wedding. It is following the previous finale 'cliches'. The crazy person dies at the hands of Dexter and another is captured/killed indirectly. I wish there would be something MAJOR that continues onto the next season.
Thanks for the agreement! I totally think the kids/Code Training thing will play out; if not in Season 4, in a future season.
•Will Anton come back season 5? Will Sil still remain friends with Rita?•Why isn't Rita's pregnancy bump showing? It's easily been 5 months during the season 3 progression right?•Why was Dex's arm bleeding through the cast in the final scene? When you fracture an arm, there are no cuts or stitches (also because he was discharged in a matter of five minutes from the hospital)•Baby names! Boy or girl? I'm betting boy. And with Dex's new found respect for the code, I'm thinking his name will be Harry. LOL the old and the new. Dex juggling with what's good for both.

Oh no, that was directed towards you haha! It was for the first commentor.
I am wondering about the first question as well. It seems that way for now. How much can change in 12 episodes right? Seems like they really like eachother. As for the pregnancy, there are some women that do not show a bump until way later on like my Latin professor. She rarely had a bump on her and she's pretty slim like Rita. Dexter's arm was bleeding because didn't George King slice his hand with the blade after her broke his hand during their struggle? I'm betting it's a boy; it doesn't seem fitting if it's a girl (no discrimination intended). And yes, how nice if the baby's name is Harry haha.
