'American Idol': Top 13 compilation album available immediately after show


Season 10 is truly the season of changes for "American Idol." For the first time in the show's history, studio versions of the song the Top 13 will be performing on tonight's (Mar. 9) show will go on sale exclusively at iTunes as a compilation album following the "Idol" broadcast (10 pm PST). If viewers just want to download one particular contestant's song, individual songs will also be available for download. The compilation album will sell for $7.99. Not a bad price for 13 songs. The songs were recorded earlier this week under the guidance of Jimmy Iovine's team, which includes producers Rock Mafia, Rodney Jerkins, Don Was, Jim Jonsin, Ron Fair and "Tricky" Stewart."Idol" contestants have already sold millions of songs on iTunes and the show's creator and executive producer Simon Fuller says, "that number could well surge once these latest songs are available for download, thanks to the popularity of the Season 10 contestants....
