The Real World Renewed for Two More Seasons

More college co-eds will have the chance to stop being polite and start getting real now that MTV has renewed 25 season old The Real World, according to Deadline. The company behind one of the original reality shows on television, Bunim/Murray, is also responsible for the Kardashian franchise, Bad Girls Club, and Making the Band. The show is currently making its third stop in Las Vegas after an original season in 2002-3 and a reunion miniseries in 2007.

The Real World was launched in 1992 and followed seven roommates of various backgrounds while they struggled to co-exist. The show has been set across the world, from Paris to San Francisco and London to Austin, and has introduced various elements to keep the proceedings fresh, i.e. having the roommates work at a pre-determined job and adding an 8th roommate. The show has given the spotlight to just about every race, region of the country, gender, sexual orientation, and occupation that one can imagine and continues to push the boundaries of reality TV.
