WHY THE BASHING??

I do not understand why is this show is being bashed up!

Why some of critics(who are idiots) are saying that Anna Torv isn't good enough??..Is it so because of her being a blonde??

This show is a masterpiece in making...comparing it with Lost or X-Files is ridiculous!!

No-offence to the fans but i think Lost is a very confusing show and X-Files was very slow and boring. Bothe of these shows cud never give what Fringe gives us - ANSWERS!!!

Every mystery is solved..every answer is given right on our face..and we are not left 2 guess about "what it was"??

I think the show is very good...n we should give it a well deserved chance...it deserves that..

Plus the cast is good too...though i too was sckeptical about Anna Torv, a rather unknown face, but she is good. She reminds me slightly of Cate Blanchette, with her strong voice and somewhat similar looks.

She just seems a bit robotic sometimes. Watching her in large doses makes me bored.. I can't help it.
LOL and Lost > Fringe, whether you like it or not. Sorry. Maybe I'll change my mind if it wins a few Emmys.
I don't think the show is terrible, but far from a masterpiece. :|

u dont have 2 worry about this show. as mentioned earlier on in this page- viewing figures have gone up over 4 million from week 1: 9 million to week 2: 13.4 million
it may get cancelled but i doubt it with jj abrams behind it & this being his first series 4 fox
looking at my earlier posts on this page- one can easily tell im a fan of the show

although the show has similarities 2 x files, it has a new twist. there are no alien conspiracy in this and the regular lab scenes are reminiscent of csi

i like Fringe....yea ana torv seems a little robotic, that i've noticed, but the story line makes up for that. I like this show a lot, really. the whole suspense thing going but at the end of the episode you do get answers to the questions the scenarios give. looking forward to the next episodes.....

The Anna Torv thing does not bother me in the least. I think at first she will be "robotic", as in intelligent, concisive, to the point, and with no emotion. That is what her job entails of her. As the season goes on I'm sure her character will blossom. She reminds me of another character of JJ Abrams: Sydney Bristow of Alias. While Sydney a lot of times in the workplace had the same attributes. People were drawn to her character though because of how she was portrayed outside the CIA the first few episodes. All I can say is give it time.

Fringe is a new show and there's definitely a lot to be developed in terms of characters and relationships. If everything was laid out on the table from the get go, the show would have nowhere to go.
I like that this show has a science twist, that there's not just some random trinket that will fix everything, but they have to work and figure everything out. Obviously science only goes so far and none of it is real, but they present it in a way that you can believe that it could happen someday. Sometimes it makes sense.
I'm a HUGE Lost fan. I don't think these two shows should really be comparable. Fringe is basically a cop show that has a super exotic, out-of-the-ordinary twist on it. If we are comparing shows, compare this to CSI, Law and Order, Bones, etc. Lost has eerie qualities to it, similar to Fringe, but it is nowhere near the same structure or idea.

I was saying that you can't compare Lost to Fringe, because Lost is obviously superior. :) I was saying in a snarky way that I don't think Fringe will win any Emmys any time soon.

House dind't win a single emmy..and its undoubtly a great show...!!ur talkin abt emmys??...many good movies get missed out in Oscars..n sumreally non-deserving one win...purely out of popularity..Lost is popular..bucuz it waz brought in during the times of shows like Desperate Housewives, House, Arrested Development, ..none of dem wz a mystery, action or adventure..Therefore it wz able 2 generate curiosity.Im myelf a big fan of Lost..bt comparing it 2 Fringe is absolutley ridiculous ..dey are completley different frm each other.Plus the only similarity between X-Files and Fringe is that dey both show the FBI in focus .

I'm really enjoying this show. I'm a bit tv watcher, but have never been much of a series follower as it takes a lot to get me so interested in a series that I want to follow it catching every weekly episode. Fringe has done it though, I am super interested. And personally, I think Anna Torv does a good job. Ya in some scenes her acting is eh, but its only going to get better. You see that in a lot of shows. In the first seasons of shows the lead actor isn't necessarily the greatest, but still fits the role perfectly. Then when season 2 and 3 come along, they get better and better

The Emmy thing is true (not all good shows win Emmys), I was just being cheeky.
Dexter didn't even win anything this year :(

i watched the show, but currently not a big fan. Something is wrong with Anna Torv but the co stars are great. We'll see how the show will develop.
Mulder and Scully didn't get their Xfiles Cult just after 2 episodes. what I am saying is "give it a little time"

LOST is the best SHOW EVER. and I think not having answers all the time can be interesting & tantalizing. It is highly addictive and love all the characters. Ones who think it's confusing, simply don't get it.Anna Torv little bit reminds me of Cate Blenchett for some reason. I think having Joshua Jackson balances the cast out with her robotic charactor.

Perhaps Anna Torv is just not that good an actress, yet. You could say that Gillian Anderson wasn't that great of an actress when she started on X Files, but became a good actress as the show progressed. Alot of actresses start off kinda cheezy and robotic, but bloom into better actresses later in life. She's cutting her teeth on Fringe.

please don't go there...you can absolutely not compare fringe to x-files or lost. Not to 'Lost' because, no offense, this is my opinion, that show is like one of the worst written and acted popular recent shows. It's way over dramatized, the camera is horrible (I get sick looking at it swaying around all the time) and the music...is just somehow out of place. Not to 'X-Files' because tha show is not a mere show anymore it's an institution. and that's not only my opinion. X-Files introduced a new genre, new topics, new actors...and honestly the sentence 'I want to believe' -altough often misunderstood- is one of the most famous show-slogans. Also, Mulder was an extremely well made, deep character and a symbol for certain issues our world still needs to deal with. It's true, the producers didn't know when to stop so it went down the drain the last two seasons but it's a milestone in television history.Fringe can become like that. But as of yet I do not see anyone as fascinating as Mulder in it, I don't see the Cancer Candidate and I don't see any really catching mystries. But in the beginning that also went for the X-Files so that's no big deal.Once Fringe has run for at least a season we can tell wether it has X-Files potential or not. I really hope it has because I know the X-Files by heart (well, it was my first TV-show- I was like 8- and kept watching all reruns) and have been looking for a similarily fascinating show for a very long time. I hope Fringe keeps the promise it's producer made when he himself compared it to X-Files.

I love the show, I think is better than Lost and the Xfiles. Is true, the X-files was boring and Lost is worst, I could not even finish seeing the end of the first episode of Lost, for me it was BLA. But FRINGE on the other hand is great. It intrigues you, and makes laugh a little with the things Walter does and say.
Sorry but I give both thumbs up to Fringe, again GREAT show.

"the only similarity between the X-Files and Fringe is that they both show the FBI in focus...alexia1986"
I'm sorry to say but that's one of the most ignorant comments I've seen in awhile. Both shows deal in the supernatural and both are a mix of sci-fi/drama/action/ and suspense. I could go on and on about the parallels between the two but I don't like to state the obvious...
On an upper note.. I think Fringe is definately it's own show and isn't just an X-Files spin off. The acting is awesome and so far every show has kept me wanting more and asking questions which is good. The whole mythology the show has created is really interesting and with Fringe Science as a basis for the plot; the story possibilities are endless. One of the best new shows of the year and I can't wait to see what's yet to come.
As for those who have ripped on Lost; I don't know if you people are watching the same show as me, but from my perspective, Lost is awesome and like good wine, it's just gotten better with time.

So RockyRakoon then this make every show similar to every show..!! I know JJ Abrahms himself said that Fringe is a cross beween X-Files and Twilight etc etc..But I find it much advanced, in every manner, i.e special effects, story arcs and all..X-Files is a classic..but Fringe is no doubt better.
