TV ratings: 'American Idol' dips but still rules Wednesday; 'Happy Endings' falls


Fast National ratings for Wednesday, April 20, 2011"American Idol" was off a little from last week's performance show but still led FOX to an easy ratings win Wednesday night -- even though "Breaking In" lost two-thirds of its lead-in audience at 9:30 p.m. Elsewhere, ABC's comedy "Happy Endings" fell without a "Modern Family" lead-in.FOX's 18.2 million viewers and 10.4 rating/17 share were by far the best numbers of the night, more than doubling the average for No. 2 CBS (8.8 million, 5.4/9). ABC (6.1 million, 3.8/6) came in third. NBC's 3.65 million viewers and 2.3/4 took fourth, while The CW trailed with 1.4 million viewers and a 0.9/1.In the adults 18-49 demographic, FOX's 5.8 rating almost beat the combined total of the four other English-language networks. ABC and CBS tied for second at 2.2. NBC managed only a 1.0, but that was good enough to beat The CW's 0.6....
