Bethenny Frankel’s former manager wants to lay claim to a piece of her $120 million empire, but the reality star-turned-branding-mogul says she isn’t going to let it happen.
"Unfortunately, one of the signs of success is being the subject of frivolous lawsuits, like this one," Frankel said in a statement to Speakeasy. "This is simply someone with his hand out, who did nothing to earn it, and I am not going to be bullied. We are exploring all of our options, including filing counterclaims against these people."
The former "Real Housewives of New York" star is the force behind the Skinnygirl cocktail line, which was acquired by Fortune Brands Beam Global a few weeks ago.
Doug Wald, co-president of Raw Talent, filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court seeking a ten percent cut of the deal, an estimated $12 million, and $100 million in punitive damages.
