TV Ratings: 'American Idol' results and 'Bones' dip, 'Mentalist' finale up


Fast National ratings for Thursday, May 19, 2011The "American Idol" results show narrowed the pool from three to two, losing a fraction of last week's audience in the process, but still buoying FOX to win the night. "Bones" season finale was also down from last Thursday -- though it bested the 2010 finale with help from the different timeslot. In other finales, "The Office" regained some of its post-Carell audience loss with a one-hour episode that topped in adults 18-49, and the season finale of "The Mentalist" was up from last week's numbers.FOX led the night with 15.6 million viewers and a 9.1 rating/15 share in households, besting the improved CBS (12.5 million, 7.7/12), which came in second. ABC came in third with 7.5  million viewers and a 5.0/8, with NBC (4.7 million, 2.9/5) in fourth and The CW at the bottom with just 1.3 million viewers and a 0.8/1.The adults 18-49 demographic also belonged...
