How did you interperet Sarah's inability to shoot the woman holding Chuck Hostage?

I was slightly confused by what they were trying to convey to the watchers in this part. I would think that she would be willing to shoot to save his life.

Was she afraid she would hit him?

Did she not want to risk the other person killing him first?

Was she paralyzed by fear?

This didn't make that much sense to me. I don't think they did the best job with this scene. I understand what they were trying to say about the relationship between them.

Also what do you guys think will happen with how they left things? MILD SPOILERS UPCOMING (NOTHING THATS NOT IN EXTENDED PREVIEW) I saw the extended preview on NBC and it seems like the big reason they couldn't be together when he was done with the spy stuff wouldn't be much of an issue after this upcoming episode.

Agreed - I think it was that she cared for Chuck more than Bryce and that scene combined with the flashback meant to show that. But as we saw, it sadly also proved that she and Chuck couldn't get further involved with each other since it's keeping her from doing the best she can at her job/protecting Chuck. So sad.

Agree in so far as her inability to shoot means she really cares for him and just can't stand the thought of endangering him.But I just can't see why they can't be together. Half the time she saves him BECAUSE she cares for him... like running after him held hostage, and not catching the guy with the chip-thing. I mean, he would have been killed there if she wasn't there to help. So it's a good thing after all... And their feelings won't change anyway, just because you don't have a relationship doesn't mean you don't have feelings.

it doesn't matter what they feel Bryce was right she will get herself and Chuck killed if she can't concentrate on the main task at hand. Only there's one problem, she's already fallen for Chuck so now if he dates anyone or something goes wrong she will still have to fight her urges of love/lust. In my opinion I think the writers should try the storyline of her giving up the agency for Chuck and seeing how her not being able to be fully involved and in the know will affect them. Of course, they would have to come up with a storyline on how she got to stay in the same city as Chuck, hence the whole part of Chuck telling her she will never be allowed to leave the agency and be with him completely. Also, gotta hand it to Bryce he is looking out for Chuck the intercept updates means that it will be longer before they can find or build a new one and more time for Chuck to live.

agreed in everything so far. just want to add my two cents. sarah had feelings for bryce in the past but because they share the same profession, she was comfortable enough to shoot that bad guy in the beginning.. they work wonderful together.. knows what each other was thinking, they trust each other. at least that was what i thought when i saw that scene. then came the scene with chuck. sarah's feelings for chuck might be stronger than what she felt for bryce and that was why she was not able to shoot the bad guy, as elaborately mentioned by our friends here. it's the same explanation why surgeons are not allowed to perform on their close relatives, because they cannot think straight, well most of the times, they only panic and feel anxiety. i mean, what if something goes bad? they will only have theirselves to blame.. as much as possible, you only want the people you cared about to be safe and don't comprehend what's happening in the surroundings. i think that was what happened there.
as for sarah-chuck ending together, or not, i think we shouldn't talk about it for the mean time.. i mean, come on, the second season has just started! and i'm still waiting for jill to make an appearance.. shouldn't we enjoy the ride and not look at the ending? it's too early to tell. and besides, i think they just put that sarah-chuck talk about the possibility of ending up together to heat up the series.. heheheh.. who knows, bryce, bless him, will keep updating the intercept, hence keeping sarah to chuck's hip all the time that by the end of the 5th (oh yeah! i'm counting on it hehehe) season, sarah will have no choice but to give up "sarah walker" and be with chuck. chuck might show here how to live a normal life that she will like, eventually.. or, it'll be chuck's destiny to be an agent.. hahahah! who really knows?
sorry, i think i made this my own blog or someting heheh
