‘America’s Got Talent’: Audition Epsiode Recap

Just a few days into the Atlanta leg of America’s Got Talent’s sixth season, the judges are still sorting through a wealth of less worthy competitors while trying to find a future winner. Judge Piers Morgan announced that Day Two in Atlanta boasted "the biggest audience America’s Got talent ever had," referring to the capacity crowd in the Fox theater where auditions were held.

Host Nick Cannon looked sharp in a gray sportcoat and vest as he introduced the first contestant, a 31-year-old drag queen named Hershae Chocolate. Explaining that she was going to do "an impersonation with a dance," Hershae convincingly mimicked Macy Gray’s gravelly croon before stripping down to a sequined dress and dancing to Donna Summer’s "Last Dance." Judge Howie Mandel jokingly asked, "are you a one man show or one woman show" before backing up Sharon Osborne’s "yes" vote, while Morgan voted no, coldly – but not unfairly – observing that Hershae didn’t offer much in the way of originality.
