Give SGU a fair chance!

Ok, first of all SGU deserves a fair chance before everyone starts jumping on the hate train. Give it at least one season to grab your attention! However I will agree that the plot, as of now, is pretty boring there is hardly any interaction between alien races (which is to be expected of from any stargate). But you have to remember the writers are trying something new and different for the stargate series.

I say if you are a true fan of stargate you DON'T compare it to sgu or sga because they are not in the same class. Although sgu harbors the name "stargate" the whole aspect of the show is different from sgu or sga.

Once this season finishes up and you don't like it still, then start ranting about it, at least give them a chance!

I actually think it's kind of interesting. It's a different approach, but it isn't that bad.
I think, as soon as they manage to control the ship a little more, find new technology they can use and the people finally accept that they probably aren't going to get back to earth very soon, the story-arc will become more SG-like than it is now.
There are just a few little logical problems I don't like very much.If they have such problems understanding the ship, why don't they use the magic-eggballs to replace two on the ship with daniel jackson and rodney mckay...they would, if they team up, understand the most important parts within practically no time.
Eventhough I'm actually glad that they didn't repeat the SGA-concept of "whatever tech-problem we come up with, super-rodney solves it". But It would have been nice if they at least would have kept their tech-level. rodney brabbeling about geeky techstuff was kind of an important part of SGA. Also the fun-parts of that (f.e. rodney blowing up a galaxy) are kind of missing in SGU.I get that young people probably don't get most of the tech-stuff and I understand why they keep it low therefor. But ignoring this important part of SG is kind of an betrayal of the SG-Fans that actually made the Franchise the success it became.
so: I think SGU has potential, but some vital parts of previous SG-Series missing. I hope they manage to change that before first season ends.

A full season of this crap...please.
You can't take the Stargate franchise and create SoapOperaGate and expect fans to stick by it. Some will love it, some new will join, some will leave. Based on feedback that I've seen so far its 60% against 20% for are willing to wait and 20% love it.
You'll only need to wait one season because that's all there will be.
Just one man's opinion.

Dammit I accidentally voted to liking this review... but I don't. LOL. This Stargate is boring as hell with irritating, flat characters, etc... it's like watching Big Brother on a ship. UGH.
I really like sftech's comment xD SoapOperaGate... if only it was as interesting as a soap opera (FYI I hate soap operas with a passion... should give some perspective on how much I love SGU... yeah, right.)
Hoping it'll get better, although I don't know why I bother still hoping...
