has peter really lost his powers?

my point is simple peter petrelli could not have lost his powers because when he comes into proximity with other heroes he automaticly absorbs their power so he must have absorbed his fathers power and not know how to control it yet which is why he thinks he has to touch others to get their powers just like his dad did and in series 1 it took him ages to master his newer abilities. it seems right to me........... what do you guys think

Well Peters main power was absorbing others' power(s) so when his father took his power he took all the powers Peter had gained and his main power (the absorbing of others' power/powers), at least, that's what I think.

Arthur Petrelli took EVERY ability Peter had and left nothing behind.

peter lost all of his powers to his dad, ALL of them - including his main which was to absorb peoples powers when in proximity whether he wanted to or not. peter got a power back, which is to absorb simply ONE power at a time at will and by physically touching a person, by taking the formula mohinder made then he touched nathan absorbed his power and was then able to play them both to safety.

Oh thats a good thought, maybe that baby will return his powers, it seems to be working for Hiro since now he can at least stop time without the baby. Hopefully the baby does save Peter's power, weird that his powers would come back the way they did, maybe this was Peter's original power and he got the power to absorb other peoples powers from someone else I mean Peter's power is basically his dad's... without the painful stealing part..

I think part of the whole thing was to make all of the heroes more "powerless;like the episode was saying" so they seemed more human and could learn how to live with out them; it has been the premise of the show for this whole season :P. I think Peter still has his power it has just been reduced to a more juvenile or passive state kinda like hiro couldnt freeze and after the baby now he can freeze but he cant teleport. So to sum things up I think Hiro and Peter will get their powers back fully but if they had them all this time it would be ridiculous, i mean Peter would have had so many powers Sylar would be nothing to him by now, so the whole thing "oh no they are scary" with Danko and the government wouldnt be able to happen.
