'Alphas' has solid premiere on Syfy; spend Sunday mornings with 'Mad Men'


A healthy dose of TV snacks for your Tuesday, including casting news, ratings for "Torchwood's" premiere and more:Syfy's new series "Alphas" drew pretty good ratings in its debut Monday night (July 11). The series averaged 2.5 million viewers, about half of whom fell in the adults 18-49 demographic. "Warehouse 13" (2.3 million) and "Eureka" (2 million) also put up decent numbers. [Syfy]AMC will help you pass the time before "Mad Men" returns early next year by re-running the entire series in three-episode blocks on Sundays starting July 31. Downside: The blocks start at 6 a.m. ET, so you might want to set the DVR.
