'Friday Night Lights' EP Jason Katims on Emmy nominations: 'It's sweet'


The series finale of "Friday Night Lights" airs on NBC Friday (July 15) -- after already having aired on DirecTV in February. So is the show getting its first nomination for outstanding drama series at the Emmys at all bittersweet?"No -- it's sweet," executive producer Jason Katims tells Zap2it. "It's taken a long time to get that kind of recognition, but we've had such great acknowledgment all along from the passionate fans of the show and the passion so many critics have had, and as far as I feel, that's kept us going. So to have this acknowledgment now is really just a great way to send the show off. It's unexpected, and it's really thrilling."The series received its first nomination for best drama, and leads Connie Britton and Kyle Chandler each earned their second nomination.
