‘Another Earth’: Review Revue

Director Mike Cahill’s feature film debut stars newcomer co-writer/producer/actor Brit Marling as Rhoda, a high school senior in New Haven, Connecticut whose life is forever changed by the sudden appearance of a mysterious new planet in the night sky. This planet, an apparent duplicate of our Earth, comes to loom over the film’s landscape as Rhoda tries to reclaim her life after a devastating accident.

The 92-minute science fiction drama premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Alfred P. Sloan Prize for films that feature science or technology as a central theme. Cahill also served as the film’s chief cinematographer, editor, producer and co-writer. Read More...
