From 'Top Chef' to 'The Chew,' Carla Hall talks soap fan feedback


Soap fans, we're just as sad about ABC canceling "All My Children" and "One Life to Live" as you are, but don't take it out on Carla Hall. The 47-year-old model-turned-chef is one of the most charming and hilarious contestants in "Top Chef" history. Starting Sept. 26, she'll parlay her two-season stint on the show into a full-time hosting gig on ABC's "The Chew." And as Hall told Zap2it and other press at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, the food-centric talk show's recently-vacated afternoon time slot carries a lot of baggage."I get the tweets from these wonderful and passionate people, and I understand," says Hall. "They've been watching soaps for half their live and they're very passionate. I hope that what we have for them is that takeaway that everybody does eat. Everybody is on a budget. Everyone is trying to do something different every day. Hopefully this works in their lives...
