What happened??? Has Prison Break really been Cancelled?

I saw at the top of the page that disturbing graph suggesting that Prison Break has been cancelled, and there hasn't been a new episode in a while, despite the season not being finished, has it really been cancelled?

What happened to all the optimism that came with the beginning of season 4? I know that the season before it wasn't up to scratch, actually, lets face it, none of the seasons have lived up to the first season's expectations, but I thought that the programme had a high enough following to keep it going?

I must admit, I wasn't sure that it had an coherant story going lately, but I didn't think it was cancell worthy? Is it really true?

It's true AnnieB. I actually think this season has been pretty good, but on saying that, it is time for them to wrap up the show. There is only so much they can do with a show like this and if they continued for another season of trying to take down the company, the story would be so repetitive and most fans would give up on it.
I am looking forward to the remaining eps and hope they wrap up everything and don't leave us wanting for answers.

AnnieB, fear not gentle viewer! There are 8 episodes to conclude the story and will be shown in the next four months or so.

paul scheuring and peter liguori are not getting along...
so peter liguori showed scheuring who is the boss and who isn't,
liguori, head of fox television only did this "cancel" thing as a warning to scheuring for some personal reasons...
