‘Breaking Bad,’ Season 4, Episode 6, ‘Cornered’: TV Recap

This week’s episode of Breaking Bad, “Cornered”, is like a gigantic chess board, with all the players making moves and countermoves.  Who’s winning and who’s losing? All depends on perspective.

The first move of the episode is made by the rival cartel on Gus’ operation, as the hired muscle inside the Los Pollos Hermanos truck is outmaneuvered, trapped in the truck and carbon monoxide-d to death, with only one bucket full of blue meth taken from the hijacking.  More on this later…

Skyler, obsessed with the message Walt left on the answering machine last week, has an epiphany about it, shares her findings with Walt: that was a goodbye message.  She once again tries to get through to him that if he’s really in danger, they can go to the authorities.  Walt lashes out, a little too harshly, saying “I’m not in danger, I AM the danger!”.  He goes to the shower, cools off a bit, but Skyler has taken off without a word.
