'The Walking Dead' Gets 90-Minute Premiere, Split Season 2

'The Walking Dead' Season 2 will premiere with an extra helping of zombies -- and footage. Yep, starting Oct. 16 at 9PM, audiences will get 90 minutes of zombie apocalypse goodness on AMC.

AMC will air six one-hour episodes each week before putting the show on hiatus. It'll return Sun., Feb. 12 in its regular 9PM timeslot. Kevin Smith's new reality show about his comic book store will also debut on Feb. 12.

The 90-minute premiere will also launch globally on all Fox International Channels during the week of Oct. 17-23. 'The Walking Dead' Season 2 will be seen in 122 countries and translated into 35 different languages.

'The Walking Dead' follows a group of survivors including small town police officer Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his wife Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies) and Carl (Chandler Riggs), Shane (Jon Bernthal), Andrea (Laurie Holden), Dale (Jeffrey DeMunn) and Glenn (Steve Yeun). This season the group find a working farm and are joined by guest stars Lauren Cohan, Scott Wilson and Pruitt Taylor Vince.
