‘Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy’ Is Born Again in Venice

The new film version of British writer John le Carré’s best-selling 1974 spy novel “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy” held its premiere in Venice on Monday to critical acclaim and high praise for Gary Oldman’s performance as the classic Cold War-era agent: George Smiley.
