Every episode of 'Burn Notice' (Thursdays, 10PM on USA) is about Michael Westen's past somehow coming back to haunt him. That's the premise of the show -- Westen trying to stay alive after being outed as a spy. But the show's mid-season finale was a little different. Not only was Westen trying to avoid the frame-up for murdering Max, his CIA contact, but an old friend, "Dead" Larry Sizemore came back into his life to blackmail him into helping with a job.
There was some bad blood between Sizemore and Westen that goes back to their days in Serbia and Russia. Sizemore still had a lot of anger. "You deserved to be burned," he told Westen. "Oh, have we forgotten about Chechnya?"
Westen denied doing anything in Chechnya, which is when we got a hint of what happened. "Oh, is that what you tell yourself?" said Sizemore. "You stood there. You watched it happen. You let me kill those people. And then you helped me cover it up. Because that was the job."
