‘America’s Got Talent,’ Week 16, Night 2, Season Finale: TV Recap

On Wednesday night’s episode of "America’s Got Talent," there was only one announcement that mattered: who would win the $1 million prize and a chance to have a headlining show in Las Vegas. While the show’s producers stretched the finale to two hours in length, they thankfully also filled it with an impressive and entertaining variety of talented acts.

Of the four contestants, Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. took the stage first, performing "You’re All I Need To Get By" with no less than Patti LaBelle. Their version of the song was truly fantastic – Murphy more than held his own against LaBelle, even when she belted out a few notes that would make almost anyone sharing the stage cower behind their microphone.

After their duet, Def Leppard performed two of their songs, including their late ‘80s classic "Pour Some Sugar On Me." Host Nick Cannon, meanwhile, revealed the reason for Tuesday night’s technical difficulties, showing footage of the problems the floor staff experienced while trying to remove one of the acts’ stage set-up. They experienced no problems setting up Team iLuminate’s performance with Cobra Starship, and while the band performed an appropriately poppy version of their current single, "You Make Me Feel," the electrified crew danced around them.
