'Revenge' review: Delicious drama, at any temperature


If "Revenge" is a dish best served cold, adjust your television and thermostat accordingly. The ABC drama is one of the best new series to hit TV this fall. Loosely based on "The Count of Monte Cristo," pre-revolutionary France is exchanged for the present day Hamptons, where Emily (Emily VanCamp) moves back into the childhood home she shared with her father.We quickly learn that their time there was hardly idyllic. Their closest friends and neighbors sold her father out for a crime he didn't commit, sending him to die and jail and her to get bounced around the system until she came of age. Under a new name, and apparently unrecognizable as an adult, Emily moves back to set her plan for vengeance to action -- with neighbors Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) and Nolan (Gabriel Mann) Grayson as her primary target. The task of destroying her unwitting enemies is something Emily seems to relish, so...
