‘Project Runway,’ Season 9, Episode 9, ‘Sew 70s’: TV Recap

Last week, Sheepdogs, this week, Earth, Wind & Fire on this week’s Project Runway. The seven remaining designers have to create something inspired by the 1970s. They have some rocking platform shoes as inspiration.

Specifically a sophisticated 70s, which just makes us chortle. And let us just say, buh-bye Olivier, you whiny, self-important fragile flower. May the rest of your life be filled only with mannequin-sized people.

Anya is doing 70s… in Jamaica. I’m confused. Laura is doing a maxi skirt with a glam top. Bert is using sequins and creating a disco queen. There is a lot of orange, rusty earthy print going on. Then Anya loses her money because she has tucked it into her very small top, and it falls out. She’s left with $11 left over from Anthony Ryan, so she’s going to be stuck designing with muslin.
