‘Castle’ Season 4, Episode 5, ‘Eye of the Beholder’: TV Recap

The relationship/non-relationship heat between Castle and Beckett is apparent to everyone — even to strangers. The tension has percolated to such a degree it’s a main theme and undertone in almost every scene in this week’s “Castle.”

An expensive piece of art called “The Fist of Capitalism” is stolen from a museum but that’s not the big crime of the week. Mr. Hays, the museum’s curator, was murdered during a gala and most likely during the heist. Hays likely got killed when he went to check on the Fist and caught the thief mid-theft.

As Castle and Beckett theorize about how the crimes played out and whether or not the thief gained access to the museum through the gala, Serena Kaye, the museum’s insurance investigator comes along to investigate the theft and tells Castle and Beckett their theory is wrong and instead offers her own. Serena gets a finders fee for recovering the stolen art so she tells Beckett and Castle that since they have common goals she could help them with their case.
