THE SING-OFF “Top 7 Groups: Superstar Medleys” Season 3, Episode 7 – The Sing-Off kicked off tonight’s episode in the ghoulish spirit of the holiday with a fun medley of iconic Halloween tunes sung by the remaining 7 a capella groups in the competition.

Urban Method was the first to perform their superstar medley consisting of a few of Rihanna’s most famous songs. As a group, their sound was fine and the women singing lead vocals all have pretty voices, however they were lacking charisma and energy. I think Sarah was right on point when she said the female voices lacked confidence and although I’m sure they were singing their hearts out, they seemed like they were too nervous to have fun with the song on stage. Mike has a natural stage presence that carries the group when he’s singing lead, but when he’s in the background there’s not much to set them apart from the other groups on The Sing-Off.

Vocal Point took the prior week’s criticisms from the judges with seriousness and worked on arrangement of Elvis Presley songs that would highlight their pitch perfection. The judges all agreed that they nailed their performance both vocally and theatrically. Read More...
